Word Perfect - creating an index. Can I make one easily, and show it in a bar on the side like in Word?

Is there a way to create headers using a drop down menu from a font toolbar at the top of the document, as in Word? Any suggestions to streamline the process of making an index for a WordPerfect document will be appreciated.Word Perfect - creating an index.
