what do you think?
are there any particular quotes you like about life?Life isnt about finding yourself, life is about creating yourself?
umm life is about you shutting the f#$% up before my foot gets inserted up ya a**Life isnt about finding yourself, life is about creating yourself?
You couldn't possibly create, until you found the concept of your creation. If you haven't found yourself, you cannot create yourself, without creating a false version of yourself.
That being said, your ';self'; isn't readily available to be found, because it a metaphysical assertion of the individual to embrace ';self.';
You are a collection of your thoughts and actions, based on experience and inclination. You are always yourself, in whatever rendition you find yourself, although you have to always remember, that you have played a part in placing yourself where you inevitably find yourself.
';Life's a beach. Let's go surfing! '; - I said it.
Life is not about finding yourself, nor about creating yourself. Life is for living to the full every day. And it is not all about ';yourself';, too many people focus too much of their attention on themselves without giving a thought to others.
';life isnt about finding yourself, life is about creating yourself? '; It sounds good but life is just not that simple. But here's one that I love ';a man without vises is a man without virtues'; (Abe Lincoln)
What do ';finding yourself'; and ';creating yourself'; mean? They are trite, simplistic, meaningless, thought-free, you can do anything if you want to, pseudo-intellectual, claptrap, nincompoop, weasle-minded, just plain stupid, phrases.
yes
i think life is about losing your self .. i don't really think we have a 'self' it's an illusion, and when we realise this then we awaken and then we start to live life.
Can not agree. Life is to find out what we are, rather than create what we are not.
Btw life is about solving problems
It is both. You cannot create yourself until you understand the building blocks
After years of trying to ';find'; myself, I realized I already found myself (which really means to understand yourself.) That didn't give me the paradigm shift I was expecting, or lead me to my ';calling.'; I had to DECIDE what I wanted to do by looking at what I was good at doing, and getting my education in that major. Now I have to create myself. When I've done a good job at that, then I have CREATED myself.
dusky that was the first time ive ever heard that quote, but that sounds like the best one
by the time you think to start looking to 'find yourself' you have already created yourself. once you know yourself though then yes you will spend time creating what you view as your true self
there's a simple quotation i like about 'life' which indicates that which is most appropriately called 'life' is not the bit between birth and death
';from life
beyond death
to life';
life is what happens when you're busy making other plans - john lennon
I think that is a great philosophy!
A favorite quote of mine is....
Though we may think we know each other well, when we neglect feelings in a relationship, we neglect the deepest and most intimate part of ourselves ... sharing feelings leads us to great closeness because feelings are very personal, the most intimate part of us. The sharing of a deep feeling is the greatest gift a human being can give to another.
--Fr. Chuck Gallaghe
everything is in our minds
I think its a bit of both to be honest.
Taking the slant of your question, it occurs to me that when it comes to human beings we are said to procreate rather than reproduce. Therefore we participate in our own creation even though we are not totally responsible for it. So there is an element to our life that is determined and another that needs our cooperation to finish off - or rather complete.
Peace
Unless you know yourself first, i.e. , your limitations, strengths and weaknesses, your aptitude %26amp; interests, how can you even try to create yourself. You may think about running 100 metres in less than 10 seconds, but you have to fisrt judge whether you are even capable of it before opting for a training program.
