We don't see new species appear in places we've already explored. New continents, mountains, islands, rivers, lakes or oceans don't just come out of nowhere. We've had just one moon as long as we've been around. No new planets have appeared in our solar system. I just can't figure out why a being that can create these things with a thought would have stopped doing it so long ago. Instead we have to rely on long and tedious natural processes. Why did he quit the whole creation business? Why did God stop creating things?
The writers made sure that God always acted when no one was around. Very convenient. Why did God stop creating things?
That is why I believe in a combination of creation and evolution, guided by God. New species are found, even in recent times. They probably existed for a long time but were not known about. I think God created everything but uses evolution and things like that to keep things going and gradually changing. To me this is not denying God, it is giving him credit for a long process, not just an instant creation of everything the same way. I think what scientists call 'mutations' are not random at all, but part of God's plan.
And the swine flu seemed to come out of nowhere. Are you sure He stopped creating? And Ebola, that showed up out of nowhere, or so it seemed. And the AIDS virus. New things do seem to be 'created' from time to time.
And we don't know, there might be new Solar systems forming around other stars all the time, just not ours. Creation is probably a constant thing, the universe is vast beyond our understanding.
One thing I will say is that divine creation and the natural process need not be two separate things. Perhaps at the instant all this matter came into being (big bang, or whatever you want to call it) the Creator set it upon a certain path (by the laws of physics/nature) and all the heavenly bodies and life forms that have sprung up from this configuration were an inevitable part of the original design. The only thing with the power to alter this natural course is a life form possessing free will. This is where I think the phrase ';created in His image'; comes in. We are a reflection of the original creation, because of our ability to take part in the ongoing creation. I think we should look for God in ourselves and in each other, rather than looking to the sky for a so-called ';miracle.'; These are my thoughts on the matter, at least.
Your question can be answered in this way.... in a long-running and successful Broadway play, how often are the sets changed?
The scenery for what we Souls need to do is perfect and the props operate just fine, why would it be changed? The important part of Life is unseen and Esoteric, not the physical stage upon which we do the play.
Curiosity and fear drives us, and we continue searching life after life until we discover that what is important is not outside, but is hidden within us.
Peace
Everything you said is really not true. The earth was a totally different place after God's creation. New species are evolving from older ones all the time, as are islands and land formations. God created the basics and ';it was good.';
God hasn't stopped creating things.
He hasn't quit the whole creation business.
Every moment new universes are being manifested from the pores of His skin. And every moment universes are being destroyed also
Creation has got to be done again. Gen.1:1,2; no age or time given, Job 38:4-7,30-32; no age or time given, angels see, Gen.1:3-25, earth being prepared for inhabitant, no age or time given, Gen.1:26-31 [ Gen.2:2,4, when God's day six ends, God's day seven begans ], Gen.4:25; Gen.5:3, Cain kills Abel, Seth is born year 130, the resurrection of the dead goes back 6000 years to Abel, 1Cor.15:22-28,51-53, who died year 130, for the 1000 year reign of Jesus and his first resurrected as priest, that are with him at his 2nd coming, Rev.20:1-6, Satan is in the pit 1000 years. Rev.20:7-10. No more Satan. At 7130 years, Rev.21:1-5, all is made as new as before Eden. 2Pet.3:13; Isa.65:17,25; 66:1,22; Rev.2:7; Gen.2:2,4, has ended.
someones never played spore, THATS what god does all day, hes playing spore with the human race
Sorry but new solar systems and planets have been discovered....Land formations take years to develop,,,,
I, like you am an ultra-minute organism of His creation!
New species appear all the time. It seems God didn't need to continue, they perpetuate themselves.
Because GOD realized that the human race was going to discover science and figure out that we would find out that there is no such thing as GOD.
He started working on his other projects since we already we're graded by his god teacher ;)
Lord help me!?!
*HE CREATED YOU,ME.... AND ALL OTHER HUMANS.. SHEW*
HE NEVER STOPPED LOL AND NOBODY HAS SAID THIS? OH BOY.
How many more creations do we really need?
We haven't even figured out all of the first round of creations yet.
Haven't you ever heard of retirement?
You haven't seen the iPhone - now that was divinely inspired!!! Another miracle by that demi-God Steve Jobs.
god never started but things evolve and others become extinct
He has writer's block. Or creator's block I guess.
got bored with it i guess. i mean who wants to sit around making various mollusks all day? not me.
Cant eh?
