Boy, do I have a great software package you might be interested in. It is SO easy to use. I use it all the time and it has just about everything at your fingertips including templates you can use. It's called Coffeecup. They have a free download you can use, but I purchased it because it's so good. Also, once you purchase it, you get free upgrades for life.

I think he reached his limit in Reservoir Dogs. I have absolutely no problem with violence in film, but the attitude he attaches to his violence is what I find offensive. All of his films seem to be saying something along the lines of, ';look how cool all these guns, and knives, and blood, and murdered people are.'; If you watch something like Raging Bull, or Tsotsi, or Godfather, or Apocalypse Now, or Aguirre the Wrath of God, etc... all of those films are violent (some more than others), but none of them have this, ';... look how cool it is...'; attitude. Some of them condemn the violence in the film, some of them are just saying this is how violent life is like, but none of them glorify the violence.
Tarantino's only real quality is writing dialogue, but all the dialogue he writes is extremely shallow. Plus the dialogue he writes is just as offensive as the violence. It's not offensive because he says ******, or **** hundreds of time, but the reason behind it, that is what's offensive. He writes this in to show how on the edge he is, and he's willing to say anything for the sake of, ';realism,'; but in reality it's just there to appeal to idiots. That's offensive, not because he says it, but the motives behind it.
He's a man that appeals to people that have no idea about film, but has absolutely no depth to his films. I haven't liked a single one. He is not the only one that does this, though, and he wasn't the first and won't be the last.
I would, however, doubt that his films increase violence at all. If you're willing to kill someone because you saw it in a film then there is a much more serious problem than he saw ';Pulp Fiction,'; or something. The greatest murderers of all time had no violent film in their lives. I have a dilemma! I am creating a altered art collage about abortion?
and I don't want it to be judgemental. However, I am using a medium sized wooden church and I have tiny plastic babies. I plan on putting cut up plastic baby parts in a pool of blood (paint) inside the church. I will also have empty tiny baby bottles, tiny rocking horses empty, and a stork holding a bloody baby. My theme is that I am blessed that I never had to make that most difficult decision. My dilemma is that I have a family member who loves my work but she had an abortion...I don't want to offend her but this is a project that just won't leave me alone...I tried to make it less morbid but then I am not staying true to myself. Does anyone have any other ideas?I have a dilemma! I am creating a altered art collage about abortion?
Hi, I have an idea, perhaps strange and equally disturbing as your original idea. Let me explain where I am coming from first, though, and then perhaps when you address the issue of your project with your family member, you can let her know where *I* was coming from.
Personally, I never had an abortion, but there was a several-year span of my life where I stated on more than one occasion that I would if necessary have one. So I know what it feels like to seriously consider abortion as a form of ';birth control.';
However, miscarriage is something I have been up close and personal with. My idea is stemming from the way *I* felt after having had a miscarriage. But before I give you the idea, let me give you an issue of how childless people are sometimes treated by Christians.
(I *am* now a Christian, by the way, and I know now that Jesus Christ is the ONLY way to have a relationship with the one true God. I am not dissing Christianity or any other religion, but attempting to explain my idea for your project -- keep this in mind please and continue to read.)
In the body of Christ, many people see children as a blessing from God, and as an extension of one of God's directives to the early humans in the Bible: ';be fruitful and multiply.'; How did God say that he would bless Abraham and Isaac? I think it was... with many descendants. So it's no wonder that a lot of folks in the church think of babies as a blessing.
Having had a miscarriage, I have at times felt as if many people around me were thinking, ';if she were a better person, she would have been blessed with a living child, not a dead one.'; Now, mind you, this is not always what people WERE thinking... but it was my own perception of what people were probably thinking.
With women in the church who have chosen abortion (or had it chosen for them by a ';loved one';), there is this same ';unblessed'; stigma attached to childlessness. That in itself, even for me as a woman who simply lost a child to miscarriage, is a heavy burden to bear. Thank God, in Jesus, I have found freedom from the burden! The truth is that blessings are not counted by our possessions, our descendants, or anything else of material, physical value here. Real blessings are eternal and begin with a personal relationship with God, followed by a love for all people because God loves them too, just as much as He loves ';me.';
But many women who went through abortions have not found this freedom yet, and are still under the heavy burden of this childlessness stigma due to their own misconceptions about God's ways of blessing people.
I have known many women who had abortions, many who chose to have the abortion and believed it was the right and proper thing to do, but who later regretted the fact that they were never able to have children after that. They FEEL unblessed, sometimes even as if the previous child's blood is on their hands.
Every idea you mentioned is a good idea, I believe... because the stork did deliver me a bloody baby... and as hard as that is to think about... it is a perfect way of relating my own tragedy to your project.
Have a woman kneeling, with blood flowing out of her lower parts, her head held in her hands...
Have one woman kneeling with her face showing complete distress as she looks up to heaven, with one hand on the empty crib beside her.
Be certain to have a judgmental crowd standing near the altar and pulpit... back far from the bloody woman and the distressed woman with the crib who are near the back of the church... the crowd with faces aghast, jaws dropped open, judgmental looks in their eyes, and some with complete disgust, perhaps, pointing especially at the bloody woman.
Perhaps have one single Christian standing near each of the two women, but standing at a distance, with one hand outstretched toward the woman, but with the woman seeming oblivious to their presence.
If there was a way to have one person standing near the crowd, sort of between the crowd and the two women on the floor with their two lone samaritans standing beside them. This particular person should be holding up a cross and pointing to it... and appearing angry with the crowd.
What I am suggesting, is that everyone appear somewhat guilty in your collage. Not just the women who had abortions, but the churchy types as well. Because God said there is ';none righteous, no not one.'; And it is ONLY by simple faith in Jesus Christ that any person can be saved. Jesus Himself, as perfect as He was/is... said to people, ';There is none good but the Father (God).'; And I believe this firmly. I am not a good person in and of myself... but Jesus washes me white as snow. And what those judgmental churchy types need to understand, is that Jesus is the only thing that washes THEM white as snow too.
The humanity of every single person in your collage, should, according to Jesus, bind them together, TOGETHER... as lost souls who are so happy to have found a savior (Jesus) that they want to extend that love out to ALL people. But still, too often, people end up on opposite sides, attempting to be ';better than'; someone else so they can look better themselves.
This, my friend, is your key to not offending. Because the love of Jesus is not offensive. Sometimes people do take offense to it... but it is not at all offensive. It is the only thing with the power to save and heal for all eternity. Focus on the ugliness of what happens, yes, because you believe it is the wrong thing to do, and for me it also is the wrong thing to do.
But focus more on the redemptive power of God in Christ Jesus. He is alive today, He heals, He speaks, He works miracles, He sends each of us personal signs. If we only open our eyes and ears, He will speak truth to us individually. Continue to seek His guidance as you work, and let your collage speak His truth, because His truth is free from judgment of the downtrodden. And women who find themselves heartbroken after abortions are definitely among the downtrodden.
Aborted babies or fetuses are definitely among the downtrodden as well. But I speak this concerning the children only in support of the collage you are trying to make... because it would help for young people to think about these issues hard before they consider them. Your work on this collage may help some of them to think harder about the choices that will be set before them in life.
And I do not speak this in judgment against any woman who had an abortion, but simply concerning the children. The only thing I extend to the women is the love of Christ which is what He wants THEM to know. His love, His healing, His forgiveness if forgiveness is ever needed. Be healed, women! I am the last person who would stand as an accuser of you.
The more I think about this, I may not be giving you ';collage'; ideas because I'm not even sure what a collage is anymore... however, I hope the thought train I am on will be of use to you.
The main thing I was thinking, is that outside the church should be a cemetery... that is where the plastic baby parts should be in their pool of blood... the rocking horses and baby bottles as well could be out there, and the stork with the bloody baby. If you can find a tiny casket. If you can find a dead woman with a smoking gun in her hand and lay her out there in the graveyard too. Because I know many women have chosen to take their own life later after not being able to come to grips with the choices they made earlier in life. Show their side too, if you can?
I don't think the cut up baby parts are too harsh. I have seen photographs of what abortions end up looking like... they are bloody, harsh, and oftentimes result in being able to see the parts of the fetus which so resemble tiny baby parts. And if, like some women say (and like I said at one point in my life)... if the abortion is just a simple surgical procedure... well, there are pictures put out there of every other surgical procedure known to man, and there is no reason your cut up baby parts should disturb someone who is solid in their stance about abortion. They most they should be able to say is ';Ew, Gross!'; like folks say about every other bloody thing.
There is no reason your feelings about abortion should disturb them either. If what they say is true, and abortion is simply a surgical procedure, then they will simply write off your opinion as being half-mad. Let them. Some day, they may understand what you were trying to say to people, like I do now but did not before when I was younger. Perhaps they never will understand. That's their decision. Just like it is your decision whether to raise this issue in your art. You have decided; now follow through with it.
But be certain that the love of Jesus Christ flows all through and around your collage, because if you leave out His redemptive power, His forgiveness, then your art is sorely lacking in what it has set out to do.
Since we don't really have good, accurate pictures of what Jesus looked like when He was on the earth... and since, according to my deep faith, we could mislead people by ';drawing'; Him and causing people to look for a physical Jesus... I would urge you to find some other way to portray His great love for both the women in your collage, and the babies.
Perhaps the one thing you could do, is to write a couple of sayings underneath all this portrayal of cold reality you are bringing into existence here...
';Father forgive them... they don't even understand what they are doing.'; ~Jesus
And...
';I don't condemn you either. Go and sin no more.'; ~Jesus
And one commentary about the death of babies in general...
';Allow the little children to come to me.'; ~Jesus
This is not a judgmental verse in and of itself, though if a person has the least bit of guilty conscience from God, the verse will probably cause their guilt to surface... do not judge your relative if after she sees this verse, she becomes angry with you... but simply ask her gently why the verse made her feel condemned, if it did. Ask her, if she has a completely clear conscience about what she has done, why did she become so defensive about this verse?
In that verse, you are simply stating a message of hope regarding the ';unborn.'; If her conscience is not clear regarding her own decision, then she needs to pray hard about it, and let the Lord bring her the forgiveness she needs. Help her here, it could be that she has carried around guilt for years, and you are who the Lord is sending to help her find freedom from it in Christ.

I want only two things, which underlie my statements here: (1) for you to get the message out that abortion is not simply something that most women ';do and then forget about';... it isn't, and even without self-righteous Christians standing around them, they many times feel self-condemned; and, (2) for you to get the message out that Jesus'es blood covers all sin, for those who trust Him as the only begotten Son of God, who God raised from the dead... that once a person has trusted Jesus in this way... none of their wrongs will ever be held against them again.
(I think the Bible says we only have to ';confess with our mouth the Lord Jesus'; and ';believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead';... doing those two things brings us to a state of ';righteousness'; and ';salvation'; by our simple faith and trust in Jesus.)
I continue to speak here about ';wrongs'; and ';forgiveness'; only because you said you needed a way to keep your relative from feeling condemned by you or offended. I am trying to give you some good stuff to allow her to read, from a Christian who is speaking by the power of the Holy Spirit here, and who is not related to her, and who has no reason to want to condemn or offend her... I am only attempting to speak truth that will be helpful to you in your efforts, and helpful to her in a way of healing. (Sorry to make this such a long post.)
The fact is, lying or cheating or stealing a quarter from your mom's pocketbook when you were a kid, are all just as wrong as any abortion could be, according to the Bible, if I read it correctly. The man who murdered my Dad is no more guilty than I am for gossiping about a neighbor who was giving me trouble last year. (The murder of my Dad was extremely difficult for me to forgive, by the way, but as God forgave me, so I want to extend that forgiveness to my Dad's murderer, because of Jesus.) Sin is sin, according to the Bible, and a price must be paid for it. Jesus paid that price, and He was the only one qualified to do so for all mankind, according to my heart's faith. He did it, praise His name.
I charge you to look beyond the blood and guts, and see the horrible loneliness and self-condemnation in these women. God wants these women to know how greatly He loves them, in spite of any right or wrong decisions they have made, He only wants them to talk to Him and build a relationship with Him in Christ. Comfort them with the words of Jesus in your collage. God bless you in the work you are doing -- it took guts to even begin thinking about such a work.

Stay true to your art...it should come from you, not watered down for someone else. Good art makes you feel and react...even if its not a good feeling. I'm sure thats a decision someone has to live with everyday of their life, and they will be exposed to many other things besides your art project that might offend them. Go all out and you never know she may even be able to relate to it. It might not hurt if you apologize or warn her ahead of time about the project. Maybe she can even give you some inspiration..

What I am suggesting, is that everyone appear somewhat guilty in your collage. Not just the women who had abortions, but the churchy types as well. Because God said there is ';none righteous, no not one.'; And it is ONLY by simple faith in Jesus Christ that any person can be saved. Jesus Himself, as perfect as He was/is... said to people, ';There is none good but the Father (God).'; And I believe this firmly. I am not a good person in and of myself... but Jesus washes me white as snow. And what those judgmental churchy types need to understand, is that Jesus is the only thing that washes THEM white as snow too.
The humanity of every single person in your collage, should, according to Jesus, bind them together, TOGETHER... as lost souls who are so happy to have found a savior (Jesus) that they want to extend that love out to ALL people. But still, too often, people end up on opposite sides, attempting to be ';better than'; someone else so they can look better themselves.
This, my friend, is your key to not offending. Because the love of Jesus is not offensive. Sometimes people do take offense to it... but it is not at all offensive. It is the only thing with the power to save and heal for all eternity. Focus on the ugliness of what happens, yes, because you believe it is the wrong thing to do, and for me it also is the wrong thing to do.
But focus more on the redemptive power of God in Christ Jesus. He is alive today, He heals, He speaks, He works miracles, He sends each of us personal signs. If we only open our eyes and ears, He will speak truth to us individually. Continue to seek His guidance as you work, and let your collage speak His truth, because His truth is free from judgment of the downtrodden. And women who find themselves heartbroken after abortions are definitely among the downtrodden.
Aborted babies or fetuses are definitely among the downtrodden as well. But I speak this concerning the children only in support of the collage you are trying to make... because it would help for young people to think about these issues hard before they consider them. Your work on this collage may help some of them to think harder about the choices that will be set before them in life.
And I do not speak this in judgment against any woman who had an abortion, but simply concerning the children. The only thing I extend to the women is the love of Christ which is what He wants THEM to know. His love, His healing, His forgiveness if forgiveness is ever needed. Be healed, women! I am the last person who would stand as an accuser of you.
The more I think about this, I may not be giving you ';collage'; ideas because I'm not even sure what a collage is anymore... however, I hope the thought train I am on will be of use to you.
The main thing I was thinking, is that outside the church should be a cemetery... that is where the plastic baby parts should be in their pool of blood... the rocking horses and baby bottles as well could be out there, and the stork with the bloody baby. If you can find a tiny casket. If you can find a dead woman with a smoking gun in her hand and lay her out there in the graveyard too. Because I know many women have chosen to take their own life later after not being able to come to grips with the choices they made earlier in life. Show their side too, if you can?
I don't think the cut up baby parts are too harsh. I have seen photographs of what abortions end up looking like... they are bloody, harsh, and oftentimes result in being able to see the parts of the fetus which so resemble tiny baby parts. And if, like some women say (and like I said at one point in my life)... if the abortion is just a simple surgical procedure... well, there are pictures put out there of every other surgical procedure known to man, and there is no reason your cut up baby parts should disturb someone who is solid in their stance about abortion. They most they should be able to say is ';Ew, Gross!'; like folks say about every other bloody thing.
There is no reason your feelings about abortion should disturb them either. If what they say is true, and abortion is simply a surgical procedure, then they will simply write off your opinion as being half-mad. Let them. Some day, they may understand what you were trying to say to people, like I do now but did not before when I was younger. Perhaps they never will understand. That's their decision. Just like it is your decision whether to raise this issue in your art. You have decided; now follow through with it.
But be certain that the love of Jesus Christ flows all through and around your collage, because if you leave out His redemptive power, His forgiveness, then your art is sorely lacking in what it has set out to do.
Since we don't really have good, accurate pictures of what Jesus looked like when He was on the earth... and since, according to my deep faith, we could mislead people by ';drawing'; Him and causing people to look for a physical Jesus... I would urge you to find some other way to portray His great love for both the women in your collage, and the babies.
Perhaps the one thing you could do, is to write a couple of sayings underneath all this portrayal of cold reality you are bringing into existence here...
';Father forgive them... they don't even understand what they are doing.'; ~Jesus
And...
';I don't condemn you either. Go and sin no more.'; ~Jesus
And one commentary about the death of babies in general...
';Allow the little children to come to me.'; ~Jesus
This is not a judgmental verse in and of itself, though if a person has the least bit of guilty conscience from God, the verse will probably cause their guilt to surface... do not judge your relative if after she sees this verse, she becomes angry with you... but simply ask her gently why the verse made her feel condemned, if it did. Ask her, if she has a completely clear conscience about what she has done, why did she become so defensive about this verse?
In that verse, you are simply stating a message of hope regarding the ';unborn.'; If her conscience is not clear regarding her own decision, then she needs to pray hard about it, and let the Lord bring her the forgiveness she needs. Help her here, it could be that she has carried around guilt for years, and you are who the Lord is sending to help her find freedom from it in Christ.

The fact is, lying or cheating or stealing a quarter from your mom's pocketbook when you were a kid, are all just as wrong as any abortion could be, according to the Bible, if I read it correctly. The man who murdered my Dad is no more guilty than I am for gossiping about a neighbor who was giving me trouble last year. (The murder of my Dad was extremely difficult for me to forgive, by the way, but as God forgave me, so I want to extend that forgiveness to my Dad's murderer, because of Jesus.) Sin is sin, according to the Bible, and a price must be paid for it. Jesus paid that price, and He was the only one qualified to do so for all mankind, according to my heart's faith. He did it, praise His name.
I charge you to look beyond the blood and guts, and see the horrible loneliness and self-condemnation in these women. God wants these women to know how greatly He loves them, in spite of any right or wrong decisions they have made, He only wants them to talk to Him and build a relationship with Him in Christ. Stay true to your art...it should come from you, not watered down for someone else. Good art makes you feel and react...even if its not a good feeling. I'm sure thats a decision someone has to live with everyday of their life, and they will be exposed to many other things besides your art project that might offend them. Go all out and you never know she may even be able to relate to it. It might not hurt if you apologize or warn her ahead of time about the project. Maybe she can even give you some inspiration..

I wouldn't follow the example that answer one points to; using a DB query to fetch the localized version of each piece of text for a page is prohibitively expensive and will likely lead to more DB code than actual code implementing your functionality.
The concept is sound, though. You essentially want to assign a symbolic name to each unique string you want to localize/display. Then the idea is to package up all the strings in a given language and index them via the symbolic name. Then, at access time you need to ';load'; a particular set of strings, based on the desired language. (See Firefox's use of string bundles for a similar concept.)

A nearly uniform flux of microwave radiation that is believed to permeate all of space. The discovery of this radiation in 1965 by A. Penzias and R. W. Wilson has had a profound impact on understanding the nature and history of the universe. The interpretation of this radiation as the remnant fireball from the big bang by P. J. E. Peebles, R. H. Dicke, R. G. Roll, and D. T. Wilkinson, and their correct prediction of the spectrum to be that of a blackbody, was one of the great triumphs of cosmological theory. The flight of the Cosmic Background Explorer (COBE) satellite has both verified the basic nature of the radiation and given deep insight into the mechanism of formation of galaxy clusters in the early universe and the presence of dark matter.
In the theory of the big bang, the universe began with an explosion 10鈥?5 billion years ago. This big bang was not an explosion of matter into empty space but an explosion of space itself. The early universe was filled with dense, hot, glowing matter; there was no region of space free of matter or radiation. (This state is reflected in the present universe by the fact that space is more or less uniformly filled with galaxies; galaxy clusters and holes between clusters are believed to have grown from gravitational instabilities during the expansion.) The explosion of space increased the volume of the matter and radiation and thus reduced the density and temperature. The initial temperature was so high that even for several hundred thousand years after the initial explosion the universe was still as hot as the surface of the present-day Sun. At this temperature the matter of the universe was in the form of a plasma of electrons, protons, alpha particles (helium nuclei), and photons. The photons were strongly absorbed and reemitted by the electrons, and their spectrum was similar to that of the Sun. About 500,000 years after the initial explosion, the expansion caused the temperature to drop enough that the electrons and protons recombined to form hydrogen atoms. Unlike the previous plasma, which was opaque to light, neutral hydrogen is transparent. From that time (called the time of the decoupling or of recombination) until now, the cosmic photons have been traveling virtually unscattered, carrying information about the nature of the universe at the time of the decoupling. To an observer moving with the plasma, the photons have a blackbody spectrum with a characteristic temperature of a few thousand kelvins. (A blackbody spectrum is the characteristic emission from a perfectly absorbing object heated to the characteristic temperature. The orange glow emitted from a heated pan is approximately blackbody, as is the light emitted from the filament of a light bulb or from the surface of the Sun.) Although the glow from the plasma is in the visible region, as a result of the recessional velocity of the plasma from the Earth the radiation is redshifted from the visible into the microwave region, with a characteristic temperature of 3 K (5掳F above absolute zero, ?459.67掳F). The microwave radiation is coming from the most distant region of space ever observed, and was emitted earlier in time than any other cosmological signal. The radiation was originally termed cosmic background radiation because the discoverers foresaw that it would cause a background interference with satellite communications, but the term has taken on a vivid new meaning: the radiating shell of matter forms the spatial background in front of which all other astrophysical objects, such as quasars, lie. Until methods are devised to detect the neutrinos or gravity waves that were decoupled earlier, there will be no direct means of viewing beyond this background. Subsequent to its discovery, experimental work on the microwave background has been concerned primarily with the measurement of the radiation's color (its spectrum of intensity at different frequencies) and with its isotropy (its intensity as a function of direction in the sky). Results from the COBE satellite showed that the spectrum is that of a blackbody, at a temperature above absolute zero of 2.735 卤 0.060 K, to better than 1% accuracy. The lack of deviations places strong limits on the nature of material present at the time of decoupling, just a half million years after the creation of the universe.
Measurements showed that the radiation was isotropic to better than 1%. This uniformity posed a difficult problem for cosmological theory, since according to the simple big bang theory the different parts of the sky that gave rise to the microwave background had not been close enough together to reach an equilibrium temperature. Thus there was no way to understand how the intensity could be uniform. This theoretical problem was solved by a variation on the big bang theory called the inflationary universe model. In this picture the early universe was much smaller than had previously been supposed, giving it time to attain a uniform temperature; the rapid expansion of the universe occurred at a later time, the period of inflation. A map of intensity produced by the COBE satellite displays a smooth yin-yang pattern, which is the cosine variation from the 600-km/s (370-mi/s) motion of the Milky Way Galaxy. The variation is only about 3.4 mK, or about 0.1% as large as the constant 2.7-K past. The velocity of the Milky Way Galaxy is believed to result from its gravitational acceleration toward the center of a large local supercluster of galaxies. In 1992 the COBE team announced that they had found small variations in the microwave map that appear to be cosmological in origin. The map of intensity with the cosine term removed displays a bright horizontal band which comes from synchrotron emission in the Milky Way Galaxy. The most exciting regions of the plot are the marbled areas above and below the synchrotron stripe, which the COBE team called ripples in the radiation. These ripples are believed to be the first indications that the early universe was not completely uniform. The structure has a magnitude of approximately 15鈥?0 ?K, a factor of 200,000 times smaller than the 2.7-K radiation itself.
The inflationary universe model accounts for the uniformity of the radiation but still leaves the puzzle that the present universe is highly nonuniform, with most of the mass clumped into stars, galaxies, and clusters of galaxies. Most astrophysicists believe that the clumping came about from the mutual gravitational attraction of the matter created in the big bang. The cosmological anisotropy observed by the COBE satellite is interpreted as the early sign of the clumping, taking place a half million years after the creation of the universe.
Theories of galaxy formation must postulate large amounts of dark, unseen matter in order to provide the strong gravitational fields necessary for sufficient clumping. The nature of this matter is unknown, but the matter must be more massive than all that observed in stars and galaxies. The radiation coming from the otherwise unseen clumps undergoes a gravitational redshift, according to the general theory of relativity, and it is this effect that COBE is believed to be observing. These residual lumps are consistent in magnitude and form with that predicted by the inflationary universe version of the big bang theory. In the theory of the big bang, the universe began with an explosion 10鈥?5 billion years ago. This big bang was not an explosion of matter into empty space but an explosion of space itself. The early universe was filled with dense, hot, glowing matter; there was no region of space free of matter or radiation. (This state is reflected in the present universe by the fact that space is more or less uniformly filled with galaxies; galaxy clusters and holes between clusters are believed to have grown from gravitational instabilities during the expansion.) The explosion of space increased the volume of the matter and radiation and thus reduced the density and temperature. The initial temperature was so high that even for several hundred thousand years after the initial explosion the universe was still as hot as the surface of the present-day Sun. At this temperature the matter of the universe was in the form of a plasma of electrons, protons, alpha particles (helium nuclei), and photons. The photons were strongly absorbed and reemitted by the electrons, and their spectrum was similar to that of the Sun. About 500,000 years after the initial explosion, the expansion caused the temperature to drop enough that the electrons and protons recombined to form hydrogen atoms. Unlike the previous plasma, which was opaque to light, neutral hydrogen is transparent. From that time (called the time of the decoupling or of recombination) until now, the cosmic photons have been traveling virtually unscattered, carrying information about the nature of the universe at the time of the decoupling. To an observer moving with the plasma, the photons have a blackbody spectrum with a characteristic temperature of a few thousand kelvins. (A blackbody spectrum is the characteristic emission from a perfectly absorbing object heated to the characteristic temperature. The orange glow emitted from a heated pan is approximately blackbody, as is the light emitted from the filament of a light bulb or from the surface of the Sun.) Although the glow from the plasma is in the visible region, as a result of the recessional velocity of the plasma from the Earth the radiation is redshifted from the visible into the microwave region, with a characteristic temperature of 3 K (5掳F above absolute zero, ?459.67掳F). The microwave radiation is coming from the most distant region of space ever observed, and was emitted earlier in time than any other cosmological signal. The radiation was originally termed cosmic background radiation because the discoverers foresaw that it would cause a background interference with satellite communications, but the term has taken on a vivid new meaning: the radiating shell of matter forms the spatial background in front of which all other astrophysical objects, such as quasars, lie. Until methods are devised to detect the neutrinos or gravity waves that were decoupled earlier, there will be no direct means of viewing beyond this background. The lack of deviations places strong limits on the nature of material present at the time of decoupling, just a half million years after the creation of the universe.
Measurements showed that the radiation was isotropic to better than 1%. This uniformity posed a difficult problem for cosmological theory, since according to the simple big bang theory the different parts of the sky that gave rise to the microwave background had not been close enough together to reach an equilibrium temperature. Thus there was no way to understand how the intensity could be uniform. This theoretical problem was solved by a variation on the big bang theory called the inflationary universe model. In this picture the early universe was much smaller than had previously been supposed, giving it time to attain a uniform temperature; the rapid expansion of the universe occurred at a later time, the period of inflation. A map of intensity produced by the COBE satellite displays a smooth yin-yang pattern, which is the cosine variation from the 600-km/s (370-mi/s) motion of the Milky Way Galaxy. The variation is only about 3.4 mK, or about 0.1% as large as the constant 2.7-K past. The velocity of the Milky Way Galaxy is believed to result from its gravitational acceleration toward the center of a large local supercluster of galaxies. The structure has a magnitude of approximately 15鈥?0 ?K, a factor of 200,000 times smaller than the 2.7-K radiation itself.
The inflationary universe model accounts for the uniformity of the radiation but still leaves the puzzle that the present universe is highly nonuniform, with most of the mass clumped into stars, galaxies, and clusters of galaxies. Most astrophysicists believe that the clumping came about from the mutual gravitational attraction of the matter created in the big bang. The cosmological anisotropy observed by the COBE satellite is interpreted as the early sign of the clumping, taking place a half million years after the creation of the universe.
Theories of galaxy formation must postulate large amounts of dark, unseen matter in order to provide the strong gravitational fields necessary for sufficient clumping. The nature of this matter is unknown, but the matter must be more massive than all that observed in stars and galaxies. The radiation coming from the otherwise unseen clumps undergoes a gravitational redshift, according to the general theory of relativity, and it is this effect that COBE is believed to be observing. These residual lumps are consistent in magnitude and form with that predicted by the inflationary universe version of the big bang theory. Why did God stop creating things?
We don't see new species appear in places we've already explored. New continents, mountains, islands, rivers, lakes or oceans don't just come out of nowhere. We've had just one moon as long as we've been around. No new planets have appeared in our solar system. I just can't figure out why a being that can create these things with a thought would have stopped doing it so long ago. Instead we have to rely on long and tedious natural processes. Why did he quit the whole creation business?Why did God stop creating things?

That is why I believe in a combination of creation and evolution, guided by God. New species are found, even in recent times. They probably existed for a long time but were not known about. I think God created everything but uses evolution and things like that to keep things going and gradually changing. I think what scientists call 'mutations' are not random at all, but part of God's plan.

The only thing with the power to alter this natural course is a life form possessing free will. This is where I think the phrase ';created in His image'; comes in. We are a reflection of the original creation, because of our ability to take part in the ongoing creation. Obama is a liar. He said on tv that he just saved all these jobs but in reality we have even less jobs than we had before. If you look at stock markets you can see the job market has dropped even further since he took over as president. He says he's ';saving jobs'; but the only job he is saving is his own by sprouting lies. When will the country see their mistake in voting him for president? I've been looking for a job for over 6 months now and it sucks because he closed down the mines and now all those workers come here to this small town and steal all the jobs so that us 21 year olds have no chance of ever getting a job at all.

If you look at stock markets you can see the job market has dropped even further since he took over as president. No. One billion dollars trying to find a drug to cure this disease. Heart disease kills 75% of all Americans. We know that most heart disease is caused from a nano bacteria and 80% of diabetes type II is caused by a nano bacteria.
We also know that the life expectancy in America now ranks 24th in the world. That means that 23 countries in the world have people that live longer than Americans, yet we are told we are the healthiest nation in the world and send doctors to foreign countries to help the afflicted. They should be sending people here to help us!
I do not believe drug companies are evil or have bad motives, but it is obvious that profit is the motivation and health is not an objective. Treating symptoms is their directive and makes the most economical sense. Why would a drug company choose to cure a disease and eliminate the problem over masking the symptoms and generating a huge need for using the drug for the life of the patient.
A very good example of this is the antacid issue. Antacids represent 40 billion dollar per year revenue for drug companies. This is the biggest farce ever dreamed up by drug companies, and furthermore they know it. It is not stomach acid that causes heartburn, it is Lactic acid from rotting, fermenting, undigested food due to the lack of stomach acid, not the over abundance. 40% of people over 50 have some form of hypochloridia (lack of stomach acid). When given the antacids, this keeps the food from being digested because it neutralizes the stomach acid and lactic acid. The symptoms are treated, but only temporarily and so many other problems are created that require you to buy anti diarrhea drugs, diseases caused by the rotting, fermenting, food that is not being digested and ends up as stored fat around the belly.
Now ask yourself why the drug companies don't recommend the real cure of taking Betaine HCL, an activator, and a digestive enzyme after each meal. Answer: The antacids are very expensive and the real solution is cheap and does not create the other side effects and diseases that will need to be treated later.
Just imagine the billions of dollars earned by just this one issue that could be used to perfect organic farming that will produce healthy food instead of the garbage found in grocery stores now. Additionally, imagine all the health care companies that would be seeking out clients instead of people scrambling for help to curb the enormous costs of a drug culture.

First of all i think you should make it a game where people can totally create their character that way they feel like they have control of the game and it becomes more personal. Although if you do that make sure you give them many choices.
Second, there always has to be a storyline and a problem. Make sure it makes sense and that with the problem, comes combat... fighting. That way people have adreniline. I like games where things just pop up and kind of scare you, but not everybody does.
Third, incorperate animals, or creatures, into the story and gameplay. You should make it to where you can capture the creatures and over time they will grow.
Fourth, there needs to be sensible music in this game, background music that goes along with the situation.
Fifth, there needs to bee interaction. Not only communication with the conputers in the game.... but an online mode where you can play with others.
Sixth, there needs to be some sort of boss every once in a while that will be difficult to beat.
Also remember your essentials such as PAUSE! I hate it when games don't let me pause. Saving will be important too!

in the book there is a girl Clary who's father recently died. her mom Juan is engaged with a guy named luke. simon is clary's best friend so 1 night they go to a party. but clary see's something (actuaully someone) no one else can. but she doesnt know. clafry sees 2 men and a girl. (Alec, Jace and isabelle) they are shadowhunters (demon hunters) they kill down worlders. in the book thre are pixies, whiches, worlocks, demons, shadowhunter, (a few more) and mudies which are normal people. after a bunch of stuff goes on at the party and clary investagatging the 3 strange people and talking to Jace a little bit, she returns home. but when she gets there expecting to find her mother and luke, no one is there, exept everything is out of order! bookshelves are laying on the floor, the tv is smashed, and most of there stuff is gone. clary moves further into her apartment to find a raveaner. i kind of demon.after she kills it, barley making it out alive, she steps outside to see Jace. she tells him what happen and he takes her to his house (its not exactly a house tho)
so my point is you should make an oblivion game with pixies, shadowhunters, demons, angels, and mundies.

Many games today include this in their games... and EVERY game on the 360 does (achievements) I dont own a PS3 but they have a ';trophy'; system too I believe. But I mean more than that, however don't make essential content have to be unlocked... that's bad.
Second, atmosphere! Atmosphere is very important in a game to me, bioshock especially, a big one for me... Atmosphere was AMAZING, as was fallout 3.
I wouldn't really focus THAT much on graphics... Most games today sacrifice gameplay for graphics, to be honest, I'd take a good PS1 game over a bad PS3 game anyday.
Making the gamer think is good, however most games today are pretty mindless... So perhaps having varying difficulties.
Innovative gameplay is something I'd like to see, I'm sick of all the same games with different faces, quite frankly now, if you've played 1 genre of game, it feels like you've played them all.
Depending on the genre of game you're making, a good story is a must to keep people interested, non linear gameplay is also popular these days.
In terms of what kind of game I'd like to see, I really couldn't say, I have no particular tastes toward genre, to me a good game is a good game and a bad ones a bad one.

There seems to be a lack in creative games. Most of the people above have listed games that are re-runs of previous games... that's probably a safe bet (because you know games like Legend of Zelda, Mario, Sonic, Grand Theft Auto, Warcraft, etc. will sell).
My advice: if you wanna make it big go with something original. As for developers, independent developers like 2Dboy are more likely to take your ideas than established developers like Capcom or Ubisoft. But it doesn't hurt to try...
That's way too vague. Most people who want to make a video game make it because it's their passion, not because they want a money maker. Make something fun and original, then tweak it over time and perfect it. Learn from it and move on to the next one. You have to start small.

Second, atmosphere! Atmosphere is very important in a game to me, bioshock especially, a big one for me... Atmosphere was AMAZING, as was fallout 3.
I wouldn't really focus THAT much on graphics... Most games today sacrifice gameplay for graphics, to be honest, I'd take a good PS1 game over a bad PS3 game anyday.
Making the gamer think is good, however most games today are pretty mindless... So perhaps having varying difficulties.
Innovative gameplay is something I'd like to see, I'm sick of all the same games with different faces, quite frankly now, if you've played 1 genre of game, it feels like you've played them all.
Depending on the genre of game you're making, a good story is a must to keep people interested, non linear gameplay is also popular these days.
In terms of what kind of game I'd like to see, I really couldn't say, I have no particular tastes toward genre, to me a good game is a good game and a bad ones a bad one.

There seems to be a lack in creative games. Most of the people above have listed games that are re-runs of previous games... that's probably a safe bet (because you know games like Legend of Zelda, Mario, Sonic, Grand Theft Auto, Warcraft, etc. will sell).
My advice: if you wanna make it big go with something original. As for developers, independent developers like 2Dboy are more likely to take your ideas than established developers like Capcom or Ubisoft. But it doesn't hurt to try...
That's way too vague. Most people who want to make a video game make it because it's their passion, not because they want a money maker. Make something fun and original, then tweak it over time and perfect it. Learn from it and move on to the next one. You have to start small.

When they take these classes they will accumulate points that they can trade in for things like movie tickets, hair cuts, make-up, or even clothes certificates. These will increase their self esteem and also give them empowerment which women who have been through this lifestyle are lacking. It will also be a a resource center for finding employment, housing, counseling,etc. What do you think of my business idea?? Also should I charge these women a small fee and make it a for profit or get grants and make it a non-profit?? Nero should do it just fine, though it only works on CD-Rs. A CD-RW is not capable of being a VCD - so there is a chance that is your issue.
However, other programs that do this well I believe are like Sonic RecordNow and possibly Roxio Premier software. Though I'm not sure. I have the software but it's not installed as I am using Nero and don't need it yet. It's been a while since I've used it and I can't remember if this functionality is available therein or not.

I have the software but it's not installed as I am using Nero and don't need it yet. It's been a while since I've used it and I can't remember if this functionality is available therein or not.

Nero 7 includes burning AND conversion utilities. Plus, the burning function you choose (such as SVCD) automatically re-encodes the file before the burn process.What is the best program to use for creating svcd's and vcd's?

ok, u r using a burning software now, u have 2 use a software that will convert files. such as DVD Santa or any other avi to MPEG (DVD) converter.
Nero should do it just fine, though it only works on CD-Rs. A CD-RW is not capable of being a VCD - so there is a chance that is your issue.
However, other programs that do this well I believe are like Sonic RecordNow and possibly Roxio Premier software. Though I'm not sure. I have the software but it's not installed as I am using Nero and don't need it yet. It's been a while since I've used it and I can't remember if this functionality is available therein or not.

I built my own website a while back and I have a good few links on there that all work perfectly. Now I've created a blog through Blogger.com and made a link to it on my website (URL: http://xxx/blogspot.com) but it doesn't work.

should be http://xxx.blogspot.com , as a first guess. Otherwise they are just like any other URL, try copying it from your address bar and pasting that into your website. Make sure you dont have any extra ';/';s, and also make sure you DO start the URL with the ';http://'; or people will end up somewere like

How do I get the ';Free Videos'; for creating an iTunes Store account?

Who are the four main people responsible for creating calculus? What contributions did each of them make?
Here are 4 of my favorites:
Newton - responsible for developing the original calculus; used it to solve physics problems
Riemann - defined integration
Leibniz - developed a lot of the notation

Newton and Liebniz are the one's you always hear about. They supposedly each discovered the fundamental theorem of calculus independently, althought there is some controversy surrounding the matter.
As for two others- it is hard to say. Since I noticed that the other answer mentioned l'Hopital, here's an interesting bit of trivia about him. The well known rule in calculus for evaluating limits called ';l'Hopital's rule'; was actually discovered by Bernoulli. In fact l'Hopital and Bernoulli had a deal in which l'Hopital paid to have Bernoulli tell l'Hopital of his discoveries, which l'Hopital would then write about.

As far as im aware you'll need to create a different throw-away e-mail address to set up a new gamertag.
I hav'nt tried it mysel personally but i no a couple of people who managed to get more free months and i'm pretty sure thats how they did it.

Hitler loved his people, and his people loved him. ';Enemies of the state'; of course were not welcome, because Hitler saw the result of multiculturalism in society. Look where we are today; plagued by guerrila warfare, political apathy, terrorism, gang violence, and many many more injustices and black eyes to human civilization.
Hitler's image and the image of National Socialism have been forever tarnished by decades of propaganda for multiculturalist, capitalist states. Hitler's true intention was the creation of a marvelous empire with freedom, efficiency, and greatness for his people. So yes, Hitler should be considered a hero. Maybe one day intellecuals and philosophers will debate the true benefits to Hitler's campaign. But for right now, it is too soon to do such things.

He lived in boarding houses where he was supported by his grandmother (I believe it was her). At any rate he never worked. He was intensely interested in politics and as a young man already had a reputation for screaming his way through an argument. He eagerly joined the German army when WW I broke out and fought on the Western Front. He was given the Iron Cross for courage and was promoted to the rank of corporal. He never even made it to sergeant, which suggests the officers thought he was not suitable to lead men into battle, not even a platoon. As it turned out later they were right.
Hitler was blinded by mustard gas at the end of the war. By now he was spouting Anti-Semitic speeches at every opportunity.
This is important. The Army could not admit why it lost the war, this would have been too embarrassing. Germans could not understand why, after thrashing Russia, they then lost on the Western Front. The Kaiser abdicated and the Reichstag created a new government, the Weimar Republic, which also never explained the loss to the people. Thus the ground was ripe for all kinds of conspiracy theories, the most popular of which is that the Jews had stabbed the country in the back. This is in spite of the fact that German Jews fought for Germany in the war, and that the inventor of poison gas was a Jewish chemist. The Nazi Party began arming themselves early in preparation for the revolution that would put away the Weimar Republic for good.
