all the pros use macs so no windows software please
thank you !What software do professional newspaper editors in creating a newspaper?
While it's been years since I've worked in the publishing industry (I. E. for a publisher except as a freelance illustrator) most writing is done with Microsoft tools but most paste-up and graphics is done with Adobe tools -- Photoshop, InDesign, PageMaker still and Illustrator. Some still use Quark Xpress instead of InDesign but mainly it's Adobe products, and yes, on Macintoshes. What software do professional newspaper editors in creating a newspaper?
All the pros use Macs? While I'm sure many do, there are also just as many reporters, editors and writers that use PCs too.
The software for newspapers is often in-house and customized.
Word is used extensively too with special templates.
Newspaper writers need to use software that allows them to do many things from layout, web and print services, accounting, classifieds and more.
In addition, they need to be able to login remotely, wireless, to be able to fax and email having their stories properly formatted for whatever software they use in-house.
