The United states does have several weaker minor parties. The most commonly heard of are the Green party and the Libertarians. Anyone who wants to can start a party, but you're going to need a lot of funding to publicize and enlist members.

Foreigners can't be president. I'm not even sure about naturalized citizens. You might be able to designate yourself ';head of the party'; but you still can't be elected to the office of the president. Here in the US, the people who want to be president compete against each other in mini-elections within the party to see who will have the party's endorsement for president. How do I go about creating a 3rd party In the united states and is it allowed? e.g Democrat, Republican,?
You can start your own party in the USA, what you can not do is accept foreign contributions.

You would have to place your own natural born USA citizen to become president and vice president. Otherwise, an immigrant that is a USA citizen can run for any other office. That is why Arnold can't become president.

You can find that out by doing an internet search about our constitution.

.
only USA born citizens can be president. before you start a party you had better do some research, there are a lot of parties in the USA.
There are already MANY different ';3rd parties'; who regularly run for public office.

The Green Party and the Libertarians are two of the biggest.

The reality is that they have a slim to none chance of winning any significant national office.
