rumor has it but probably it is true. why is it that when a new virus comes a new special antivirus comes out with it too.
this is my opinion and i don't know which one is real.Creating virus to buy an antivirus program?
I wouldn't think so - that would be like weedkiller firms hiring out helicopters and shoveling out weed seed by the ton just to increase weedkiller sales, hmmm! - you may be on to something.
no
To date, no virus has been traced back to a virus company, and about 90% of all viruses have been traced back to their creators. (I do this for a living)
Detecting a new virus is usually simple. To be a ';virus';, a program has to spread by duplicating itself on other computers. This usually means that it starts polling the IP addresses of evey computer around it, spreading itself. That kind of activity can usually be spotted within seconds, the pc isolated, and then examined to find the program doing the polling. Then it is just a matter of removing that program. Usually the lag between the appearance of a virus and its ';cure'; is about 6-12 hours. (Again, I do this for a living.)
What you do commonly see are ';rogue'; softwares. These are programs which claim to be virus scanners, available free from the Internet. But when installed, they will begin to give you hundreds of false virus warnings, tie up your PC to were they are almost unusable, and can only be removed by buying a ';key'; for the program.
So in a sense, the program IS the ';virus'; on your computer. But since it does not duplicate itself (the requirement to be a ';virus';) the authorities can not go after these rogues as ';viruses';. They have found a way to extort money legally.
So there are people creating software that forces you to buy the cure from them. But what they are producing is not technically a ';virus';. It is classed as a ';rogue'; or ';spyware';.
Most anti-spyware scanners are able to remove rogue software.
No, of course they don't.
It's possible they create viruses in order to SELL their programs... why would they buy their own programs?????
D'oh!
No. Not true. Trolls with IT degrees do that. And hacker kids.
I seriously doubt it. People who do that get arrested. If someone let loose a worm on the community and they got arrested and it was a antivirus programmer for some big company, I'm sure it would have gotten extremely high publicity. They've never been caught at least.
I could name names but let's just say that this has been going on since the mid-80s.
Ofcourse they do..........
The ppl who make antivirus.... are tech genious so they can make virus too.. and if u say tht hacker and etc make the virus y wouldnt they launch their own antivirus to earn money...... these ppl understand the virus to make its antivirus b/c they have made it
Only Symantec does that.
well.... its a conspiracy theory.... maybe there is some truth to it... maybe not...
I have read about this in a magazine.
No they don't.
Anyway the people who work for them can easily develop a virus.
Hackers actually help those companies make money.
i doubt it people make so many viruses so they wouldnt need to
who knows? people say things like this a lot, but no company as been caught by the police as of yet, so we just have to assume they are clean
...no one is guilty until they are proved to be guilty in a court of law!
Sherlock Holmes said 'In the absence of any evidence, look for the obvious beneficiary' :)
it is possible however i believe not all viruses.
